- I'm running Informix-Online 5.00.UC3 with Informix 4-4GL 4.10.UE2 on
- a HP 9000 s750 computer. A process with some 4000 locks had hung trying to
- update the database. I killed the process (which was a very bad move).
- Going into tbmonitor, I tried to set the DB online again. Results: Since
- about 8 this morning (6 hours) the tbmonitor has said:
-
- Recovering, please wait ...
-
- please wait ........
-
- with the dots on the second line growing until about the 50th column, then
- disappearing and starting over.

- We didn't have *that* much data in the database, but the database's disk
- is fairly large (1.3GB). I can't seem to find anything to tell me how to
- put this recovery to sleep (we've got a power shutdown tomorrow), whether
- recovery time is proportional to raw disk space or amount of data, or how
- long a recovery is supposed to take. Any info would be appreciated...
