- Hi FoxPro gurus,
-
- I have several questions regarding the capabilities of FoxPro 2.0. If
- anyone know the answers to these please send me either e-mail or post
- the answers. I realize I cannot get detailed answers to most of these
- questions. I just want to know if it is possible to do them in FoxPro,
- how complicated it would be for a novice to do them, and what resources
- and references would be helpful towards accomplishing these tasks.
-
- 1. Is it possible to create a help menu within a screen design
- window? I want to design a data entry form that includes helpful
- hints. I would like it to work much the same way the FoxPro help
- menu works now. One can click on a certain area and hit a function
- key to get help.
-
- 2. Can I have a screen within a screen? I want the user to click on
- a certain area and a new screen pop up for entering data. This
- would be for data selections too large to use a radio button. Along
- the same vein, can the catagory 'other' be used with a radio button, if
- 'other' is followed by a 'fill in the blank' option?
-
- 3. How would I go about building a character based menu as a method
- for doing a query? I want a user friendly menu. For instance,
- if I wanted to know how many sites are in zone 10, I would click
- button A, and I would click button B to find out how many were in
- zone 15, etc.
-
- 4. What is a data dictionary and how would I go about creating one?
-
- 5. Whate are FoxPro's data conversion capabilities? Can menus,
- screen forms and report forms be converted?
-
- 6. What is the diference between screen and report forms besides the
- printing capabilities? Can I enter data using the report form also?
- If so, what is the advantage of using the screen form over the report
- form?
-
- Thank you in advance for answering one or more of these questions. I
- appreciate any help I can get
