- Iain: Just a note to point out that you are not a minority of one and
- the "xbase" newsgroups phenomenon is a recurrent one. I put the cycle at
- about once every four months. The "paradox" newsgroup has a longer cycle
- of about once every six months.

- I think both can be demonstrated to coincide with a rush of new students
- at universities.

- Figure on 10 days of "yeah that would be neat" and an occasional message
- such as yours pointing out that total traffic is on average 25-30 messages
- per day combining all database products. Splitting that into two or three
- newsgroups which will encourage cross-posting is relatively silly but I've
- grown weary pointing it out.
