- We need to port some C code with embedded SQL, from Unix systems with
- Ingres, to personal computers using the WATCOM C/386 32-bit compiler
- in conjunction with the Pharlap 32-bit DOS extender. Any opinions
- out there about what SQL products to use for this porting task? We
- have obtained and evaluated the WATCOM SQL product, and it seems a
- reasonable choice (cheap, passable performance, works fine with
- WATCOM's compiler and Pharlap extender), but I'm not really aware
- of what other SQL products could support our chosen compiler and
- extender, or what advantages/disadvantages they might give us wrt
- WATCOM SQL, so I just thought I'd check around before I commit to
- the SQL product choice for this port...
-
- If I get answers by e-mail, and a request to summarize, I will of
- course do so. Answers right here would be preferred to allow
- others to debate them/add to them/whatever, though. Thanks for
- any input.
