- A couple of people suggested that memory was the problem. It was. I cut my
- RAM disk down to 512K and made myself an 8Mb permanent swap file (someone
- subsequently suggested that I turn virtual memory off, but virtual memory was
- already off when I had the problem). Now things are running at a good clip.
- So I didn't have to take any of the other measures. (BTW, I am using Norton
- Desktop.) Thanks for the advice.
