  22. I have what I think is the same problem.
  23. When running pkunzip with qemm installed, the computer hangs
  24. completety. When setting desqview protection level to 3, I
  25. get error messages stating that the program accesses memory 
  26. locations that it should not access.

  28. The option -- corrects this, but the string XMS=disable
  29. in pkzip.cfg does NOT. According to the docs it should be
  30. the same as the option --.

  32. Please could people suspend using the new pkzip to compress
  33. files to be put on bbs and ftp servers until pkware 
  34. distributes a bug fixed version.
  35. The compression is not worth it anyway. Just 1/2 percent
  36. better than arj (tested with the files in the pkzip archive).
