  17. I have already done so, more or less.  I call my program 'magic'.  I
  18. posted an early version in alt.sources some time ago.  I have a
  19. significantly enlarged and speeded-up version which I'll post sometime
  20. this spring, after I'm done with my smiley book.

  22. In any case, 'magic' doesn't use an external configuration file.  All
  23. the smarts are built in, and since it has the full power of perl it can
  24. recognize things that even Guy's proposed extensions to the /etc/magic
  25. file format can't handle.
