  10.     I recently posted a message about Telix Ver 4.1 Ultra.  I got quite a
  11. negitive resoponce.  People thought I was trying to protect copyright laws.  I
  12. was just trying to keep my friend's dumb ass out of trouble.  The letter I was
  13. posting was about 4.1 ULTRA not 4.25 or PKZIP.  I got letters saying I was a
  14. dumb ass and was going to get sewed for using and distributing PKZIP 2.1 BETA. 
  15. It was a response to the letter.  I have included a file direct from Exis
  16. Autenticly Verified about 4.25.  I now use Ver. 3.20 from deltaCOMM.

  26. Notes on "Telix 4.25" -- 13 February 1992

  28. Recently a bored and talentless individual decided to poke around the
  29. Telix 3.15 code and support files, changing every occurance of "3.15" to
  30. "4.25", and changing all copyright dates to 1992.  No other changes were
  31. made, and the program is functionally the same.

  33. Please be assured that this is NOT a release from Exis Inc.  It does not
  34. appear to have any virii or trojan horses, though we will not guarantee
  35. this. The current version of Telix as released by Exis is v. 3.15,
  36. released on April 2nd, 1991.   The real Telix will contain a PKZIP

  43. The Telix Technical Support BBS now has three lines and 3 US Robotics Dual
  44.        Standard HST/v.32 modems in a ring-down cycle at 416-439-9399.

  48. Please do not call and ask if 4.25 is a real version.   It is not.
  49. Calls and BBS messages (both in the echoes and on our BBS as above)
  50. inquiring about this do nothing more than swamp the Exis staff
  51. (including programmers) and thus delay legitimate releases.

  53. Any real release from Exis Inc, will also be widely publicized in
  54. advance of release.    In other words, if any new version of Telix is
  55. posted to a BBS, you'll know that it's the real McCoy.
