- I'm a heavy Windows user, and despite the huge volume of Windows
- shareware I use, there's still a function I need and haven't seen. What
- I'm looking for is a utility that will allow user configurable desktop
- icons for drag and drop. All it needs to do is be able to pass a
- commandline to the appropriate program. Since some of the things I want
- to be able to do this with are DOS tasks, (notably, archiving programs) I
- can't just run the application minimized and drag&drop to that.
- There are many application docks that can do it (AppBar 3.3 is the
- best, and it's freeware), but I need separate icons to preserve desktop
- space, ie, by not having icons for the programs I'm not going to be
- dragging and dropping to. I've seen payware apps that will do this, but
- the cheapest is NDW, and I'm not shelling out for that. Anyone seen anything?
