  17. CODEBK11.ZIP    Convert fixed formatted data into other format

  19. CODEBOOK transforms any (fixed formatted) ASCII file with one record per
  20. case of any (unlimited) length into multiple Blank or Comma delimited
  21. (or eventually Fixed formatted or Report) data files (optionally) with
  22. STATGRAPHICS (or generally acceptable, e.g.  Lotus) variable names on
  23. the first row, each containing a user specified number of variables.
  24. Completely blank fields (mostly representing missing values) in the
  25. original ASCII file may be replaced automatically by any
  26. (user-specified) numerical or character value in the resulting output
  27. data files.  The output records (generally unformatted values) are
  28. preceeded by a first line with variable names.  As many (un)formatted
  29. output files are generated as are necessary to contain the total number
  30. of variables as a multiple of the number of variables per output file.
  31. They are named automatically by the file name of the original formatted
  32. data file with their sequence number as the extension.

  34. This package has replaced the previous version CODEBOOK.ARC.
