- SIGMAN Workshop on Intelligent Manufacturing Technology
-
- Description: This one day workshop attempts to bring together researchers
- developing the manufacturing technology to support "art to part"
- manufacturing. Such
- technology employs artificial intelligence to meld the different phases
- of design and manufacturing. Areas of
- interest include algorithms for scheduling, planning and controlling
- systems. Other areas of interest include architectures,
- representations and standards to support intelligent manufacturing.
- Reusable, cross-domain, and process-integrating efforts are of
- particular interest. Successful systems addressing difficult job-shop
- scheduling; algorithms for design coordination and concurrency;
- manufacturing simulation; high tolerance
- manufacturing;integrated design and manufacturing;
- integrating distributed, heterogeneous knowledge-bases;
- and many-coordinated machines manufacturing will also be examined.
-
- Topics: Artificial Intelligence Architectures for Manufacturing
- Representations, Standards and Formal Specifications for Manufacturing
- Advanced Methods to Control Manufacturing Processes
- Deployed Intelligent Manufacturing Systems.
-
- Format of Workshop: Moderated panels consisting of from three to five
- individuals will be organized around technology areas
- relating to the topics. Each panelist will be given an opportunity
- to present followed by group discussion.
-
- Submission requirements: Authors are requested to submit evidence of their
- interest and work in the field in one of two forms. The first is
- to send three copies of a paper of up to six pages. The second form
- is electronically mailing a one or two page abstract of the
- researcher's interests and work in intelligent manufacturing.
- All submissions should be made to the workshop chair.
-
- Submission deadline: March 12, 1993
- Notification deadline: April 2, 1993
- Final date for camera-ready copies: April 30, 1993
