    I have recently returned from the holidays.   As I mentioned a month ago,
I was interested in helping to set up an unmoderated group related to
natural language.   Right now, I am waiting for a reply from someone else
who wanted to set up a newsgroup that dealt with natural languages and neural
networks.   Because there was a person who wanted some systematic way
of naming these two groups, the name for the natural language group
is still uncertain.  I think it will be comp.ai.nat-language.   The idea
will be discuss any topics relating to natural languages as an AI discipline.

    This would involve natural language understanding and translation, and
possibly extend to speech recognition.   If someone would send me the procedure
for forming a newsgroup, I would appreciate it.   I know that it involves
two steps.  The first is a request for discussion (RFD) which is supposed
to last a month, followed by a call for votes (CFV), which also lasts
about a month.   The request would be sent to all relevant newsgroups, and
so I would also need suggestions as to which newsgroups should receive
this information.   In addition, I suppose I need to contact the person
"in charge" of newsgroups.
