- I've taken out `rec.skiing', `rec.travel', `nyx.misc',
- `du.general', `bit.listserv.travel-l' from the Newsgroups: line
- and added `co.politics.amend2.discuss' where the Followup-To: are
- also redirected to.

-
- Three things:
-
- A) Marriage:
-
- In article <1993Jan8.003732.10002@mnemosyne.cs.du.edu>,
- zstewart@nyx.cs.du.edu (Zhahai Stewart) writes:
-
- Z.Stewart|> Every state and the federal
- Z.Stewart|> government grant special rights to heterosexuals, which are
- Z.Stewart|> unavailable to homosexuals (ref: marriage).
-
- Is it stated in the law that a gay man and a gay woman cannot
- be married? Or that two straight men can be married together?
- :-)
-
- B) Spelling:
-
- I saw two slightly different versions of Amendment #2:
- mjs@fc.hp.com (Marc Sabatella) and jrbd@craycos.com (James
- Davies) wrote:
-
- Neither the State of Colorado, through any of its
- branches or departments, nor any of its agencies,
- political subdivisions, municipalities or school
- districts, shall enact, adopt or enforce any statute,
- regulation, ordinance or policy whereby homosexual,
- lesbian, or bisexual orientation, conduct, practices
- or relationships shall constitute or otherwise be the
- basis of, or entitle any person or class of persons to
- have or claim any minority status, quota preferences,
- protected status or claim of discrimination. This
- Section of the Constitution shall be in all respects
- self-executing.
-
- and thester@nyx.cs.du.edu (Uncle Fester) wrote it with `enact'
- instead of `entitle' in the above.
-
- Which one is the right version? Or are they both wrong?
-
- C) Sueing:
-
- 1) For sexual orientation discrimination:
-
- Can some employee that has been fired for its sexual
- orientation sue its employer, whatever is that sexual
- orientation?
-
- Provided the above version is correct, it's written in A#2
- ``[...] homosexual, lesbian, or bisexual orientation, conduct,
- practices or relationships shall constitute or otherwise be
- the basis of, or entitle any person [...]''. So any sexual
- orientation still constitutes a basis for a lawsuit, as far as
- I understand it.
-
- 2) Wording of a judgement:
-
- Is a judgement in one or more of those categories ``statute,
- regulation, ordinance or policy''?
-
- If that's the case, then can the words ``homosexual, lesbian,
- or bisexual'' be used in a judgement without rendering it
- void?
