  24. I actually wrote PRINQUAL before I visited Leiden, but it definitely
  25. was inspired by Jan de Leeuw's work, the Gifi book, and all of the
  26. related work that came out of Leiden and UNC.  The PRINQUAL MTV
  27. (maximum total variance) algorithm is like the Gifi PRINCALS algorithm.
  28. PRINQUAL also has an MGV (minimum generalized variance) algorithm, which
  29. iteratively regresses each variable on all of the others.  MORALS, for
  30. multiple optimal regression using alternating least squares, is
  31. implemented in PROC TRANSREG, as is CANALS (canonical correlation with
  32. alternating least squares).
