- I actually wrote PRINQUAL before I visited Leiden, but it definitely
- was inspired by Jan de Leeuw's work, the Gifi book, and all of the
- related work that came out of Leiden and UNC. The PRINQUAL MTV
- (maximum total variance) algorithm is like the Gifi PRINCALS algorithm.
- PRINQUAL also has an MGV (minimum generalized variance) algorithm, which
- iteratively regresses each variable on all of the others. MORALS, for
- multiple optimal regression using alternating least squares, is
- implemented in PROC TRANSREG, as is CANALS (canonical correlation with
- alternating least squares).
