  25. on a personal computer with a Intel 80286 microprocessor.

  30. - UNFORMAT and UNDELETE commands
  31. - online help
  32. - full screen editor
  33. - ability to create disk partitions greater than 32MB
  34. - ability to search for files through multiple levels of directories
  35. - ability to recall and edit previous commands
  36. - QBASIC, an improved BASIC programming environment

  38. MS-DOS 5.0 also gives you the ability to load MS-DOS and device drivers
  39. in high memory, freeing conventional memory for programs that need it,
  40. such as SAS.  You need extended, not expanded memory, to use this feature.

  42. You also asked about expanded memory under release 6.04.  I don't
  43. know the theorectical limit but there is very little benefit to
  44. going beyond 2MB of expanded memory for this release.

  46. If I were you, I would not invest any more money on this computer
  47. system or purchase the MS-DOS upgrade.  Sooner or later, the
  48. 6.04 release will be "orphaned" and you will have to choose to run
  49. SAS under Windows, OS/2 or some other platform.  At that point, you
  50. will have to get a new machine and the operating system will be part
  51. of the deal.
