- Thanks to all who provided solutions of varying complexity to my
- problem with multiple duplicates from an attempted MERGE.
-
- The embarrassing solution is that I was using the wrong variable when
- subsetting the large file into its components. I have two variables
- with similar names--one produces duplicates in the subset and the other
- does not. Merge was, in fact, working just as it was supposed to work,
- but I was not dealing with the data subsets I thought I was.
