- The internal structure of NW 3.11 is different to 2.x :

- The 'file-server' is a process running inside the server, attached to the
- Internal network. This is a 'logical' network inside the NetWare operating
- system. if you like you can think of it as the BUS.

- Network cards act as 'routers' routing packets from the external networks
- to the Internal network

- If a LAN driver locks up you might be able to re-start the card by unloading
- and reloading the driver, followed by rebinding the protocols, etc.
- This should be used with caution as it MAY bring your server down.

- you have to BIND IPX to the network card with the correct network number
- for the EXTERNAL network for it to communicate with other servers.

- You have to make up a different network number for the INTERNAL network of the
- fileserver (treat it like any other LAN)
