  11. My problem with modifying the bold video setting in NB3 persists.
  12. Nonetheless thanks to Odeda and Mervyn for their suggestions.

  14. I jiggered the brightness and contrast settings with small hope and no
  15. results.  The hope was small because I had tried for black on grey, white on
  16. grey and flashing settings in my despair, and surely these should have shown
  17. wherever those knobs stood.  I looked up--as per Mervyn's note--all default
  18. files and found no other default.sets.  Just to be compulsive about it, I
  19. copied and deleted all default files but default.set.  Nothing helped.

  21. In the course of all this, I loaded some of my old default files with other
  22. video settings and these took effect.  My puzzlement remains, but it is
  23. obviously a problem I can live with.  Still, I would welcome any further
  24. advice anyone has.
