- The (DOS) utility I wrote some time ago, NB-ASCII, and that changes a
- file in NB, from DOS or from within NB, directly to an ascii file without
- any NB codes, and with appropriate CR's after each line, works in seconds
- and may be extended (easy: I have to add one line to the program) to
- also un-accent high bit ascii chars (in practice: all accented letters)
- which produce problems in e-mail. Whereas the earlier version is
- necessary to get an ascii file with accented letters, the new version,
- which I will also send to Itamar, will be the one needed for e-mail.
- However, JPTakala's program, which is now being offered, may work better.
- (For Dorothy Day I tested mine also on a 1 MB file, and it seemed to
- work OK --when I tested it: it changed the 1 MB file in NB to an ascii
- file in a few minutes).
