- I've been able to pin down my problem, but I still don't know why it does it.
- I found that a combination of smart quotation marks and acute e causes the
- problem I described this morning. In fact, if the acute e is next to a
- quotation mark, the cursor invariably jumps to the next line. If I type
- a quotation mark (either Ctrl-" or Ctrl-`), some text, and then an acute e,
- I get the extra, random character. I've solved the problem by editing my
- KBD file for key 53 from "ni,e,ov,*,a" to "ni,ov,*,a" which isn't as
- convenient as getting the accented e/E without entering two keys, i.e. e-/,
- but at least it's better than closing and reopening the document whenever
- the cursor runs amuck. Does anyone have any idea why "ni,e,ov,*,a" should
- cause so much difficulty in conjunction with a quotation mark?
