- This is a continuation of the recent requests for cites
- on women and minorities being generally silenced in
- traditional classrooms--good cites, by the way. I think
- they'll do the trick; thanks to all.
-
- To the message: I'm trying to scronge funds to get Daedalus
- for us. Last price quote I heard for network of about 20
- computers was $4000.00 (which I know my funding agency is going
- to balk at--until Clinton works his magic). I just received
- a mailer from SMP advertising "Writer's Prologue" as the
- "Daedalus Integrated Writing Environment." Price is about
- $400.00 for a 20 computer user site license. What gives?
- What's the difference between this and the traditional daedalus.
- Actually, what I am looking for is a program that has the
- general collaborative features of daedalus-- but I want to
- design my own prewriting activities (I think those on Daedalus
- are a bit generic) and guides for peer response. I just need
- a program that will allow me to insert my own let's-write-
- about-this-and-this-and-this to get some ideas going for each
- writing situation and my own these-kind-of-things-are-generally-
- important-in-writing-situations-of-this-type. Plus, I like the
- syncronous communication abilities of Daedalus--as I understand
- it.
-
- Information?
- Advice?
-
- And what does Writer's Helper offer that Daedalus and Writers's
- Prologue doesn't?
