  18. The University of Georgia invites applications from qualified candidates
  19. for the position of Associate Professor of Instructional Technology.  The
  20. College of Education, with over 200 faculty members, is divided into four
  21. schools, including the School of Professional Studies of which the
  22. Department of Instructional Technology is a unit.  The Department of
  23. Instructional Technology, with ten full-time faculty positions, is one of
  24. the highest rated academic programs in the field.  The department offers
  25. academic degrees at the masters, specialist, and doctoral levels with
  26. emphases in instructional technology, school media, and computer-based
  27. education.

  29. Responsibilities:  Within the Department of Instructional Technology, the
  30. appointee will teach courses in areas such as instructional systems theory,
  31. cognitive science, learning environments, and/or technology futures.  The
  32. faculty member will also be expected to qualify for appointment to the
  33. University's Graduate Faculty, take an active role in advising graduate
  34. students, and serving on or direct doctoral research committees.  The
  35. appointee will be expected to collaborate with other faculty in generating
  36. external funding for research and development projects.

  38. Qualifications/Skills:  Applicants should have an earned doctorate in
  39. instructional technology or a related field.  Evidence of strong teaching
  40. skills, significant research and publication, and successful grant activity
  41. are required.  Candidates with experience and interest in R & D within K-12
  42. or higher education are preferred.  Women and minorities are
  43. under-represented at The University of Georgia at this level and therefore
  44. suitably qualified women and minorities are encouraged to apply.

  46. Salary:  Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
