- The University of Georgia invites applications from qualified candidates
- for the position of Associate Professor of Instructional Technology. The
- College of Education, with over 200 faculty members, is divided into four
- schools, including the School of Professional Studies of which the
- Department of Instructional Technology is a unit. The Department of
- Instructional Technology, with ten full-time faculty positions, is one of
- the highest rated academic programs in the field. The department offers
- academic degrees at the masters, specialist, and doctoral levels with
- emphases in instructional technology, school media, and computer-based
- education.

- Responsibilities: Within the Department of Instructional Technology, the
- appointee will teach courses in areas such as instructional systems theory,
- cognitive science, learning environments, and/or technology futures. The
- faculty member will also be expected to qualify for appointment to the
- University's Graduate Faculty, take an active role in advising graduate
- students, and serving on or direct doctoral research committees. The
- appointee will be expected to collaborate with other faculty in generating
- external funding for research and development projects.

- Qualifications/Skills: Applicants should have an earned doctorate in
- instructional technology or a related field. Evidence of strong teaching
- skills, significant research and publication, and successful grant activity
- are required. Candidates with experience and interest in R & D within K-12
- or higher education are preferred. Women and minorities are
- under-represented at The University of Georgia at this level and therefore
- suitably qualified women and minorities are encouraged to apply.

- Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
