  24. The purpose of this series is to create a forum for investigating the social,
  25. institutional, historical, and epistemological relationships between media,
  26. education, culture, and technology.  From this perspective media, education,
  27. culture and technology are positioned as social constructions existing in time,
  28. geography, and within the social world.  The series will address, but not limit
  29. itself to questions concerning power and control over the meanings and
  30. interpretations used to form individuals as subjects, and to shape realities
  31. and ways of thinking of students and teachers.

  33. This series will entertain alternative voices to the empirical positivist way
  34. of thinking now dominating educational discourse.  It will publish collections
  35. of new works or individual undertakings that inquire into the nature of media
  36. and technology as found and practiced in the social world of schooling.
