  24. While I am hearing, this is exactly what we expect to have happen one day
  25. with our deaf child.  What I am reading is that this child has moved from
  26. phase one to phase two of the grieving process for his being different from
  27. the majority and recognizing that he will have a more challenging life as a
  28. result. (Phase one is denial; phase two is anger; ... is acceptance of self.)
  29. I think what you have here is growth in the child.  I am also sensing that
  30. either the mom is still in phase one, or she does not yet understand that
  31. he child will have a grieving process to go through before he can fully
  32. attain acceptance of self as a deaf human being.  Good luck with this one!
