  21. I believe that Intergraph's CDD carries the AT&T Documents on FMLI, but I
  22. think they're for Intergraph internal only (perhaps required by AT&T license.)
  23. I'm not sure if you can buy it. If you cannot purchase the FMLI docs from
  24. Intergraph, consider calling AT&T. To get you started without the docs,
  25. consider perusing the scripts provided by dsm, pconfig, or the XWINDOW
  26. installation. It's fairly easy to get started, just start at the beginning. :-)

  28. As an alternative, if you can utilize a graphical based interface, instead
  29. of an alphanumeric one, then consider xtpanel (available from numerous anon-ftp
  30. sites.) It's an X Window GUI scripting language that doesn't require much
  31. programming wizardry. It has primitives to call system commands, so layering
  32. it on top of current shell scripts is a breeze.

  34. If you'd prefer to tackle X Widgets, then I suggest starting with Wcl (Widget
  35. Creation Language) also available from numerous ftp sites. The latest version
  36. of Wcl is 2.4. Starting with a very small C program (examples included), you
  37. can fully prototype an entire application's look and feel, and then add in the
  38. appropriate callbacks as you define them. Also, Wcl is toolkit independent, so
  39. you can build pretty OSF/Motif applications with it (given that you have the
  40. Motif product...)
