- This is the purest BS I have seen in a very long time.
- I guess you guys have never heard the words 68010, 68020, 68030, 68040
- then?
- You don't have to own one to know about it. There is this thing called
- books. Often found in libraries if you don't want to buy one. Inside them
- you can find interesting things like the fact that newer processors has
- caches, that newer processors execute their instructions faster, that some
- 68000 instructions have become priviledged. Communicating with the world
- will also reveal that the newer processors usually run at a much higher
- frequency, and therefore one might be able to deduct that timing begins to
- play a role in your programming. Like not using dbra's in your ProTracker
- replayer for delays.
-
- Actually, I do not frown when I see someone code for absolute addresses,
- but I do frown when they do so without thinking about relocating the
- code/data. I do frown when they use move.l #'SHIT',$C00000 to check for
- more memory. The system can tell you all about it, and then some.
-
- What upsets me most though, is that the party arrangers do not demand that
- the participating demos have to work on someting else than a 500 with .5
- chip/.5 slow. This really makes me sad.
-
- (Funny how much better you feel after letting out some steam)
