for dancewear - the stretchiness provides good support and warmth.

I have lots of Danskin tights.   They're a good heavy weight and they
last forever and come in nice colors.  (I buy them at one of the local
hosiery stores, like Parklane, that sells primarily dance stuff.)

I have no great desire to wear them other than for dancing, but I have no
great desire to wear tights in general other than for dancing.  On my
sporadic trips to places with seasons, I have expressed a longing for some
nice warm ribbed wool tights, but the thought passes as soon as I get back
to L.A.

Hue makes queen size cotton tights but they may not be big enough to fit
some of the women who read this group.  I would venture to guess that they
work if you're a size 22 or under (they fit me) but I doubt they'd fit
someone very much bigger than me.
