  13. Principal Chief Wilma Mankiller of the Cherokee Nation (I think of the
  14. Eastern Band, anyone remember if she represents both East and West?)

  18.     I'm pretty proud of Chief Mankiller.  She's currently serving
  19. her second elected term as Principal Chief of the Nation.  It wasn't
  20. always so, as I understand it, that a woman could rise to become the
  21. principal ruler of the Cherokees (or any similar office).  Since she's
  22. been re-elected, it would seem she's felt to also be doing a good job.
