- Hi,
-
- I'm a recent convert to emacs and even more recently to lemacs.
- So I am still in need of some help:
-
- 1) Some enthusiastic vi users want to learn lemacs, but find the
- learning curve somewhat steep, and the vi-mode rubbish, so I promised
- them some additional menus. I read the bit on adding menus in the
- documentation, but couldn't get it to work (I don't know anything
- about emacs-lisp either). If somebody has added extra menus, I would
- appreciate an example and a short explanation how to get it included
- in emacs. (All I know about is the .emacs file)
-
- 2) For copying it would be useful to bind a mouse-button to something
- like copy-region-as-kill (M-w), e.g. <Shift>-<Ctrl>-<MB2>, or
- <Meta>-<MB2> as <Ctrl>-<MB2> is kill-region. Furthermore <MB3>
- seems rather unemployed, has anybody had some bright ideas for it,
- and some code to make it work?
-
- 3) We develop numerical codes in Fortran-90, and a Fortran-90 mode,
- making use of the new free-form source format would be great.
- Things like continuation with an & at the end of a line, etc.
- Perhaps it is possible to modify the existing fortran-mode slightly??
- It would also be nice if the indentation didn't go to the wall
- every time a CPP directive is included. Has anybody had any ideas
- on this?
-
- I would really appreciate any help. I'm a mathematician and all this
- stuff is real hard work for me, so I could do with a hand!
-
- Thanks for this nice editor anyway!
