- I know what it was like to be an addict. I used to be one. Now I am
- just the occasional user.
-
- I remember spending hours on end connected and chatting with Tommi and
- Ari (hi guys!) I remember greeting them at Christmas and New Years.
- The friends made were wonderful! The chance to communicate to people
- half-way around the world was a rush for me.
-
- Of course, as someone mentioned, the grades began to slide. I struggled.
- I had a hard time trying to pull myself away from the computer and
- focusing on my studies. heck, I even did a take home final while chatting
- with other folks.
-
- Now all that is over and done with. I survived my studies, but not without
- taking some damage. Now the reason that I am on at all is all this time
- I have on my hands since the world seems to be in a recession and jobs are
- hard to come by. I'm caught in that catch-22: no experience? no job, but
- how can one get the experience without the job? You know what I mean?
-
- Alas, IRC serves its purpose both for good and evil (evil in the sense that
- it's a vice for some of us, like smoking or something). I can't say that I
- regretted using IRC, yet I can't say that I am happy to have used it either.
-
- There you have it folks, my $0.02 worth.
