-
- If you haven't heard, one of Stern's competitors closed the gap in the
- ratings war in L.A. Stern blames this on the FCC.
-
- A competitor allegedly changed call letters to sound almost like ths LA
- call letters. Their position on the dial is relatively close, so Stern
- feels that the ratings were incorrect because people were confused...
-
- I have two comments:
-
- 1) I work in radio and Howard is right. People have no idea to what they
- listen. I have people argue that my station is doing something that
- the competition is. Therefore, anything semi-vague in a poll could
- show incorrect results.
-
- 2) I was under the impression that when a station applied for a call letter
- change the new letters had to be approved by "it's neighbors" as well as
- the FCC. Unless this station travels far, Andy Bloom should have had a
- word in the new call letters. How did this get by?
-
- I'm curious to see how long he'll stay on this topic...
