  23. To say 'Nihono suru' does not make much sense in itself but it is simuliar
  24. to the 80's yuppie phrase 'to do lunch' in that it means 'to do Japan'.  
  25. To do lunch implies that the doing is more important than actually having
  26. lunch.  I interpret it as saying that Japan was 'done' rather than travelled.
  27. Europeans often criticize (sp?) us for 'doing' places rather than visiting
  28. places.  A place is 'done' when it is visited too quickly and the visitors
  29. don't bother to want to learn any of the culture.  A 1 week tour of Europe
  30. would be an example.
