- I have very limited experience with other systems since this is my first PC.
- I'm normally on a Mac or several UNIX machines.
-
- I have a 486DX2-50, 16 M mem, Speedstar 24x Graphics controller (I think these
- are the main performance bottleneck points), and a Texel 3021 with a Trantor
- Card.
-
- I love it! I have played with a small number of CDs and haven't noticed
- any chopy-ness or graphics/audio stutter. The CDs I tried are US Street
- Atlas, Carmen San Diego and Compton's Multimedia Encyclopedia (last year's).
-
- My only complaint was when I tried connecting the audio out of the Drive
- into the Sound Blaster Pro board. Texel didn't include the audio cable
- and no one in town had one. So $15 for the cable and almost $6 shipping,
- Texel sent me one. 10" of 3-wire and the cheapest plastic connectors
- should be no where near $15.
-
- Hope this helps.
