-
- Care to elaborate on the "hate thing"? ;-) We appreciate any and all
- input that can help us improve our products.
-
- The PATHWORKS terminal emulators don't do Tektronics emulation, only
- basic VT320-style emulation.
-
- Most (if not all) commercially available terminal emulators that have
- Tektronics support do support all the PATHWORKS transports.
-
- Though, I'm not sure of the Tektronics capabilities of the DECwindows/
- Motif terminal emulator (DECterm), you might be able to use it with
- PC DECwindows Motif, or eXcursion for Windows, as an alternative.
-
- I don't know what, exactly, you mean by "multiple login sessions"
- on PATHWORKS. If you refer to terminal emulation sessions, then
- the SETHOST emulator is limited to four concurrent sessions (over
- LAT, DECnet/CTERM or TELNET), and the VT320 emulator (for Windows)
- is limited by the number of LAT Session Control Blocks, SCB's,
- defined in LATCP over LAT, NCP EXEC MAX LINKS for DECnet/CTERM
- and the TCP/IP limit comes from PROTOCOL.INI parameters like NSESSION,
- NUMSOCKETS).
-
- SETHOST under Windows is safe only if you launch it once, set the
- environment variable NVTWIN to '1' and (for LAT) use "LATCP DEFINE
- SCB n" to define the number of fixed T.E. session control blocks.
- For multiple sessions, use the built-in session support instead of
- attempting to launch multiple copies of the applications under
- Windows. You can launch as many copies of VT320 under Windows as
- your memory/network configuration permits.
-
- If you mean something else than multiple login sessions, please,
- clarify.
