- The December 21st issue of LAN Times (a predominantly Netware trade mag)
- reviewed 8 Network Print Servers. Only one of them listed LAT as a supported
- Protocol, that was the ESP1 Multiprotocol Print Server, from LANTRONIX.
-
- The unit is an external box, with serial and parallel ports. I'm still not
- entirely sure whether Parallel ports (usually being one-way) are totally
- unusable with Print Symbionts that do page counting, and error reporting,
- but if that is the case, then you're still limited to using the serial port
- for getting the data into the printer.
-
- The listed price for the LANTRONIX unit is $695. The contact information for
- LANTRONIX is:
- 26072 Merit Circle, Suite 113
- Laguna Hills, CA 92653
- (800) 422-7022 / (714) 367-0050 / Fax (714) 367-0287
-
- I'm still interested in looking at the HP adapter card, that would let me
- have 2 way communication, at greater than serial speeds.

- (and many thanks to the person who started the thread, and posted a summary.
- I've been interested in looking at this for a while, but I haven't had time
- to investigate it fully. Now I don't have to re-invent the wheel!)
