- We are workin in a similar environment that is described in
- a recent misage from Carl Makin.
-
- We want to share Postcript Printers between MAC's, PC's and
- VMS users. For every type of user we've defined services associated
- with the queues.
-
-
-
- The scheme is like this:
-
-
-
- PC user ------- Pathwork Printer Service ----VMS queue---
- "LASER"
-
- LTA9999:
-
- MAC user ------ Pathwork for Macitosh -------VMS queue---
- Printer Sevice
-
-
-
- When we created the queue of PC user, the default processor was the
- LATSYM because it is a queue that is mapped on a port in a DECserver. In
- the other hand, the processor associated with the MAC user is the
- MSAP$SYMBIONT.
-
-
-
- We've talked with Digital's Support and they have said that the solution
- is managing the queues by the Dec Print Printer Services. They are trying to
- solve he problem without this product, but I think there is no solution because
- diferent processors must be sinchronized (not obvious).
-
-
- If anyone has an installation with this features, please, send me a little
- guide about how to use-define the structure to work with the printers.
-
- I will be in holidays during two weeks but the answers will be well-received
- for my colleagues.
-
-
- Have a nice Christmas and a happy new year!!!!
