- I had a problem at a site running DECUS UUCP. I may not have
- enough information for you to identify the problem. If not,
- I guess I'll have to wait for the problem to reoccur, but I
- thought I'd post this on the chance it's a known problem.
-
- Sometime Friday afternoon something went wrong with the UUCP
- batch jobs. [I'm not sure what. I was a little too quick to
- blow them away and resubmit them to get things running.] Note,
- these are the jobs that comprise DECUS UUCP, *not* PMDF's
- channel programs. Subsequent to that two different vn_xxxx
- master batch jobs ran. Both hung, I think at the point they
- were trying to wake UUCP.
-
- Before I killed the uucp batch jobs, I deleted the two vn_xxxx
- jobs. They were replaced by the next two on the queue which
- also hung. When I killed the uucp jobs everything freed up.
-
- Sorry I didn't capture the various logs. As I said above,
- if the problem isn't easily identifyable from this description
- I'll try to gather more information if it reoccurs.
-
- Thanks
