  10. E-mailed a copy around.  Though I've given up making my own New Year's
  11. Resolutions, I really like the tone of this list.  So, in the spirit of the
  12. New Year, I give you:)

  16. There is no free lunch.  Don't feel entitled to anything you don't sweat
  17. and struggle for.
  18.  
  19. Set goals and work quietly and systematically toward them.

  21. Assign yourself.

  23. Never work for just money or for power.  They won't save your soul or build
  24. a decent family or help you sleep at night.
  25.  
  26. Don't be afraid of taking risks or of being criticized.

  28. Take parenting and family life seriously and insist that those your work
  29. for and who represent you do.

  31. Remember that your wife/husband is not your mother/father or servant,
  32. but your partner and friend.

  40. democratic society.
