- You're still missing the point. Jocks had nothing to do with it. It was
- guys who were "tough" and not "wimps" who were successful with women.

- I wasn't asking to have my position validated, Laurie. I was asking you to
- extend me the same courtesy I give you by not telling you "Bullshit!" in
- direct response to anecdotal stories of yours about your personal experiences.
- Strawman #1 - I'm not one of those men. I may request a larger statistical
- sample than just your experience, but I don't recall ever having flatly
- denied that your experience happened. Strawman #2 - I never said a man's
- anecdotal evidence was more valid, etc, etc... What I *was* saying was that
- women shouldn't expect to have it both ways - to expect their anecdotal stories
- to be accepted, but to flatly reject men's which contradict their experiences.
- Of course men shouldn't either.
- Strawman #3 - What does the venue (soc.*) have to do with it? I was under the
- foolish delusion that both groups were forums where issues specific to that
- gender could be discussed, *not* support groups and shoulders to cry on.
- I don't agree with your definition of the charter of soc.women, apparently.
- Tell you the truth, I don't perceive a hell of a lot of difference in what
- gets posted to either group (with some exceptions, many threads seem to be
- automatically crossposted to both groups).
