  23. to think so. Protestantism and Catholic counterreforms modernized
  24. European thinking so that industrial and commercial progress was

  62. My postulate is: Russian federation and democracy in Russia can not
  63. exist simultaneously. Either Russia will be split like China in the end
  64. of 19th century or Russia must consolidate power by deminishing
  65. democracy. Also China did not succeed in establishing capitalism.
  66. Japan and European great powers tried to split it. Kuomingtang tried
  67. to handle situation, but only commies succeeded in consolidating the
  68. central power by rejecting freedom.

  70. USA-type democracy is impossible, because of lacking influence of
  71. integrating market forces. The integrator of Russia will still be a
  72. bureacracy, which can not tolerate too much freedom needed to
  73. create market system. Freedom needed for entrepreneural purposes
  74. will be used for bloody nationalism, so that benefits of it are still
  75. questionable.

  77. Life in Czarist Russia is often made sound nice! It was not for
  78. the most developed nations in the Russian Empire.

  81. centuries of stagnation is ONLY reason for Russians backwardness.
  82. This misleads Westerners to forget minority questions and unsuccessfull
  83. policies centuries ago.

  85. In case democrates are going too far too fast we'll see anybody crying:
  86. "Something incredible has happened in OUR century! NObody could believe
  87. it beforehand!" Mass unemployment, no social security, collapse of sop-
  88. histicated capital-intensive industries, collapse of natural scientic
  89. research....., may make folks ignorant to democracy.

  94. BTW Russian democrates are anticommunists because they are
  95. ex-Communists, so that there is no fair democracy on either sides.
