  38. The signs are ONLY for those who "understand", "reflect", and who
  39. "ponder".

  41. People have often doubted these signs. This is what Quran says
  42. about such people:

  44. Sura 6:
  45.  
  46. 25. And of them is he who hearkens to you, and We have cast
  47. veils over their hearts lest they understand it and a heaviness into
  48. their ears; and even if they see every sign they will not believe in
  49. it; so much so that when they come to you they only dispute with
  50. you; those who disbelieve say: This is naught but the stories of
  51. the ancients.

  53. 26. And they prohibit (others) from it and go far away from
  54. it, and they only bring destruction upon their own souls while
  55. they do not perceive.

  57. Sura 6:
  58. * What ever sign is presented to such people, they will dispute.
  59.   Remember that logic can be used to prove every thing and disprove
  60.   every thing.

  62. 109. And they swear by Allah with the strongest of their
  63. oaths, that if a sign came to them they would most certainly
  64. believe in it. Say: Signs are only with Allah; and what should
  65. make you know that when it comes they will not believe?

  67. 110. And We will turn their hearts and their sights, even as
  68. they did not believe in it the first time, and We will leave them in
  69. their inordinacy, blindly wandering on.

  72. 35. And if their turning away is hard on you, then if you can
  73. seek an opening (to go down) into the earth or a ladder (to
  74. ascend up) to heaven so that you should bring them a sign and if
  75. Allah had pleased He would certainly have gathered them all on
  76. guidance, therefore be not of the ignorant.

  78. 36. Only those accept who listen; and (as to) the dead, Allah
  79. will raise them, then to Him they shall be returned.

  81. 37. And they say: Why has not a sign been sent down to him
  82. from his Lord? Say: Surely Allah is able to send down a sign, but
  83. most of them do not know.
