  15. * Good points of Trot :

  17. 1) Trot appeals to feeling from bottom of our heart.  This music is not
  18. stalking to us as trivial or trifling sound.  So, the trot singers are
  19. the best at an aspect of vocalism.  I think that, even though someone
  20. doesn't like the trot, he cannot ignore it easily.

  22. 2) Strangely the trot fits for Korean.  If someone is an extreme Rock Mania,
  23. he cannot resist there is at least one or two experiences for him to feel
  24. very easy when he is listening trot.  In addition, if he is getting older and
  25. older, that experience repeated more than his younger period.  I can't 
  26. explain but trot is very suitable music field for Korean.

  28. * Bad points of Trot :

  30. 1) Melody and rhythm are too monotonous.  Of course, it can be a good point
  31. for someone because the word "monotonous" can be converted to "familiar".
  32. However, this "familiar" thing makes the limitation of expansion of trot 
  33. lovers.

  35. 2) It is almost impossible to invent the new trot of upper dimension.  
  36. The attration of trot is the strictness of that structure.  So, it is not
  37. easy to upgrade the trot while keeping nature trot "thing".

  39. * How can the trot be more lucrative field of music?

  41. 1) Combination among the other fields of music.

  43. Let me distinguish 'the combination between trot and the other' and
  44. 'convention of new dimention'.

  46. When I call 'convention of new dimention', that means the difference between
  47. "I want to hold your hand" and "Hey Jude" both by Beatles.  Although an 
  48. interval of time when two songs made is only 4 years, two songs are totally 
  49. different each other, and the latter "Hey Jude" is more progressive than the 
  50. former "I want to hold your hand".  I want to define that kind of difference
  51. as "Convention".

  53. The representative "Combination" I want to tell you, is Garth Brook's music.
  54. He slightly seasons Rock with his country music.  Though it looks different
  55. with original country, it is still country music.  However, that combination
  56. is very fresh and sensational.

  58. I think it is necessary for Korean trot to attempt to make this combination.
  59. If the Korean Rock group like "Wild Chrysanthemum (?)" (Deul-Guk-Hwa) try to
  60. make trot to be suitable for their musical circumstance, it'll be such a fresh
  61. music.  I heard "Yoo Hyun Sang", ex-leader of group "Mt. Baek-Doo", sang trot.
  62. I expected him to make the trot combined with his Rock and Trot, but I guess
  63. it was too hard work for him to do it.  I think this work is an "uncovered
  64. virgin soil" of Korean Pop Music.  New musician should appear for this.
