  16. I feel as if I am obliged to educate you poor folks who do not know what 
  17. bbong-jjak is.  Here is my definition (?) of it:

  19. As far as I know, bj started during the Japanese Occupation of Korea.  bj is
  20. a type of music that is frequntly sung at Sool-Jib (I wanted to say bar, but
  21. somehow it doesn't seem right, if you know what I mean).  It is usually about
  22. those sappy love stories we talked about before. I was told that there were
  23. some heated discussions about it being Japanese and thus shouldn't be so 
  24. dearly loved. But it is already such bid part of Korean culture I doubt it 
  25. will ever die away. If you have a chance to 
  26. visit Korea and happen to pass by a street where there are a lot of Sool-Jib's
  27. then you are bound to hear some people singing their hearts out usually 
  28. hammered.  Try hanging out in front of colleges or something.  It is a good
  29. place to start.  One thing, though, bbong-jjak is never formally taught but
  30. you should know at least a couple of them if you'd like to hang out with the
  31. locals.
