- I realize you are not trying to flame me, but I must justify my words.
- When I lived in Rome I witnessed a group of young gypsies (Yugoslavs who come
- to "beg" on the streets. ) surround one of my compatriots and take their pieces
- of cardboard and press them against them. They then ran off, we didn't think
- anything of at first and began to turn away just as a group of carabinieri
- grabbed the gypsies and one in particular they stripped. One of the officers
- pulled out my friend money fold from the middle of the skirts and rags. My
- friend happened to be going to the exchange to change a large sum of money and
- needless to say about wet his pants to see the young gypsy had stolen it. I do
- not mean to sound racist but many gypsies are very mean spirited. They know
- what they are doing and so I made the suggestion... IF YOU SEE A PACK OF GYPSY
- children, particularly carrying pieces of cardboard, avoid them like a plague.
- Not to be racist, but because they are up to no good. During my two year stay
- in Italy I got to associate with many of the gypsy people, and some were very
- good people, they related the stories to us, telling us what to avoid!

- P.S. I would be willing to continue this discussion, since there are lots of
- interesting stories regarding the people, however as before, I intended the
- reply to be brief and to the point. I will not take the time to present some
- essay on the values or lack there of of racism and all that tripe.
