- restaurants, and I have NEVER tipped 15%.
- For that matter, I have never had a manager run down the street
- after me - if he had, I'd have never gone back.
- I *already* pay a substantial premium, and if the service
- is EXCEPTIONAL then I may leave a modest tip, but I certainly
- don't see why any waiter would EXPECT a substantial tip.

- I think the keyword here is a MODEST tip.. waiters here are
- not surviving on your tips as their only real income.
- If you respond to a waiter and let them know you are pleased
- with the service, then you are doing something just as
- effective, yet not doubling up on the premium you're already
- paying.
- If you dont think there's a premium, see how much your next bottle
- of Dom Perignon costs you IN your restaurant, etc, etc..
