  17. At the APS Division of Plasma Physics meeting this November which my
  18. wife attended, the APS DPP Award for Outstanding Doctoral Thesis
  19. was awarded.  The recipient went up to the lectern, accepted the award
  20. and said something like "I thank my advisor for making me do all the
  21. work that got me this fine award...but I would rather have gotten out a 
  22. year earlier."
