- There's another reason for this kind of response. There are positions
- which are nonsensical but emotionally or otherwise irrationally
- appealing. After being presented with this kind of position and asked
- to spend intellectual effort refuting it on enough occasions, one can
- get a little testy, since refutation of such positions is never
- accepted by their proponents (who have an intuitive wisdom which
- transcends mere reason). I'm infinitely patient myself, of course.
