  15. I recently went through this - I bought the Jet 6" jointer for 400 even
  16. and am pleased with it.  It's definately not the greatest, but after some
  17. basic alignment, the tables are co-planer and the fence is at 90 degrees.
  18. It's fairly quiet, unlike the Ryobi.  Since the Ryobi is not a _whole_
  19. lot less, I figured this was a better deal.  I'd bet that the other
  20. Taiwanese brands are probably as good.  But, I'm happy with the Jet
  21. and don't foresee outgrowing it for quite a long time.
