  22. Hi from Australia! As I am also new to this game I shall give you some little
  23. hints about this region in non-technical terms. I might have the Intelsat
  24. numbers a little wrong, sorry if they are, but you will get the drift (No pun
  25. intended!) anyway!

  27. Ummm! Why New Zealand? From someone in that region you will loose a little bit
  28. of programming over what you would get in the USA! We can only see the
  29. following _notable_ satellites in ITU Region 3
  30.  
  31.   Intelsat V-F3 (C-Band)
  32.      14 Channels, RFO, C-Span, ABC and CNN are the only constant
  33.      ones One B-Mac encoded signal (AFRTS) the rest are in the clear
  34.      RFO is Secam, US Feeds are NTSC, except for C-Span
  35.      which is PAL (and probably the most broring thing I
  36.      have ever seen.

  38.      Of course We _NEVER_ watch CNN 'cause it's not legal to
  39.      do so without paying a subscription (even if it's in
  40.      the clear!)
  41.   Intelsat V-F2 (C-Band)
  42.      Oops, think thats run out of fuel!

  44.      Nice, Very powerful, 2 Channels, One in Russian
  45.      and one in Chinese
  46.   Palapa (C-Band)
  47.      Never actually bothered trying to find this one

  49.   Aussat A-1, A-2, A-3, B-1  (All Ku)
  50.      Currently Australian Domestic News Feeds, We are
  51.      supposed to be getting Pay-TV sometime!

  55.      powerful signal somewhere off the ecliptic can you

  58. Thats it! Reading this echo, and recently visiting Europe has made me very
  59. jeolous. The only satellite we have that IMHO is worth watching is Intelsat V-
  60. F3, even that is dated and almost out of fuel. I need to adjust the dish twice
  61. daily to even keep up with it.

  63. If you are moving to NZ you might pick up one or two more, being further to the
  64. east of here, but they will be weak 'cause they are pointed at the US not our
  65. region.

  67. BTW in NZ you will need a 3.8Metre or bigger C-Band Dish to pick that one up!
