- ...neat things on the birds at Christmastime...
-
- Christmas celebrations in Portugal and Spain
-
- MuchMusic playing "I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday" by Wizzard
- and "bohemia" by Mae Moore
- and "What Child is This" by Vanessa Williams
- and "Dear Santa" by the Weather Girls
- And Steven Anthony and what's-her-name (the Quebecois VJ) building a
- gingerbread house
-
- F2-03(C) carrying a feed from Saudi TV to CNN. Did you know the emblem
- of the Saudi air force is a camel with wings? I laughed so hard I
- almost dropped my egg nog.
-
- Radio Four on PanAmSat
-
- "Twas the Night Before Christmas" from the NBC NewsChannel Staff:
- K2-13(KU) on Christmas eve, around 1130 eastern. Each department read a
- line from the poem.
-
- Christmas country music videos on Trucker TV
-
- Special Christmas ID slides from Fox, ABC-London, PanAmSat
- operations, EBU Mogadishu and many others
-
- The Visnews ID slide that said "Sorry, we can't afford a seasonal
- Caption" (yeah, I bet!)
-
- TV Globo's Brasilian Christmas in New York report
-
- Fuji TV's Japanese Christmas in New York report
-
- EBU Moscow's Christmas in Moscow report
-
- The Queen's Christmas message (the poor old dear) courtesy of Eurovision
- (I got up at 6:00 am to see it on BBC WS and realized I had misread the
- schedule; it was only on the BBC Europe Service...*$%@##!)
-
- Mary-Chapin Carpenter doing an acoustic "I Feel Lucky Today" on E! on a
- rare excursion to the western cable ghetto
-
- The Fat Lady Singing on Shop at Home (I think it's REALLY DECENT of the
- shopping channels to suspend operations on Christmas)
-
- and finally...
-
- The CBS This Morning Chamber Orchestra featuring Paula (cello) and Harry
- (tuba) playing a medley of Christmas Carols.
-
- This is my favorite time of the year to sky-scan. Every channel and
- every service works some kind of Christmas message into its programming,
- silly or serious. I like to listen to AM too, both local and evening
- skip...there's always something out of the ordinary at this time of the
- year.
-
- To all readers of rec.video.satellite...my sincerest wishes for a happy
- Christmas and New Year.
